📱 13 Days to Go: Disney Technology Prep

Disney technology—the bane of our existence and the light of our trip. It can be finicky, but it’s also what makes the magic run smoothly. With 13 days left, it’s officially time to start checking off the to-do list and ensuring all the tech is ready to go. And yes, you can do this more than 1,300 miles away from the parks!
🔋 Step 1: Power Up
Portable Chargers: A must-have. Even brand-new phones will drain quickly when you’re using tap pay, booking Lightning Lanes, checking wait times, ordering food, and snapping photos. Invest in a charger that lasts all day.
Power Strip & Charging Cables: Hotel rooms often lack outlets. A power strip or multiport USB block makes life easier when you’re charging your phone, watch, MagicBand+, and portable battery pack. Bring extra cords—trust me, you’ll thank yourself later.

📲 Step 2: Apps & Accounts
My Disney Experience App: This is your key to the kingdom. Double-check it’s updated and that your resort reservation is still connected. That’s what unlocks early entry and, if you’re staying Deluxe, those magical extended evening hours.
Play Disney Parks App: A lifesaver for families with kids. It keeps little ones entertained in line, at lunch, or waiting for the bus. (Even as an adult, this can be a fun way to waste time!)
Airline & Hotel Apps: If you’re flying, make sure your airline app is updated, and notifications are turned on. Flight changes happen fast, and you’ll want alerts in real time.
Music, Playlists & Movies: Download these at home before you leave. It’s faster, saves battery life, and ensures you’re ready for travel days.
🎟️ Step 3: Magic Bands & Tickets
Make sure your tickets and MagicBands are linked to your My Disney Experience account.
If you’re using MagicBand+, charge it fully before you go.

📸 Step 4: Camera & Storage
If your phone is your main camera, clear out storage now. On my last trip, between Memory Maker and my own shots, I came home with over 1,000 photos!
Back up your photos to iCloud, Google Photos, or Amazon Photos. That way, if anything happens to your phone, your memories are safe.
🛡️ Step 5: Practical Housekeeping
Travel Info: Store travel, health, and car insurance information in apps so you don’t have to carry papers. Peace of mind in your pocket.
Password Check: Make sure you know your logins for Disney, airlines, hotels, and banking apps. Resetting passwords mid-trip is no fun.
Bonus tip: if your airline offers free Wi-Fi, make sure your account is set up ahead of time.
AirTags/Trackers: Great for luggage or park bags. They’re typically inexpensive, easy to link to your phone, and give you peace of mind. (Delta’s app tracks luggage too, but AirTags are a nice backup.)
💬 Your Turn
That’s my tech prep checklist for 13 days out! Hopefully these tips help your trip run smoothly and stress-free. What did I forget? What additional pre-travel housekeeping would you recommend?
