✨ 8 Days to Go! Disney Traditions We Never Skip ✨

One thing I love about Disney trips is that the dynamics are never the same. Our first couple of visits were just my husband, daughter, and me. In 2022, it turned into a mother/daughter adventure. In 2023, I had my first Disneyland adults‑only girls trip. And in 2024, we mixed things up again with a dance trip and a family friends trip.

So many different vibes, but no matter who I’m with, there are a few traditions we always keep.

1. 🏰 The Castle Picture

This one’s a given. No matter the group, a castle photo is a must. It’s the ultimate Disney trip marker.

2. 👻 Haunted Mansion

My absolute favorite ride. I’ve been lucky enough to never visit when it’s down, because skipping it would feel wrong.

3. ☕ Starbucks on Main Street

There’s just something special about grabbing a Starbucks on Main Street. It hits differently than anywhere else.

4. 🎡 Visit Every Park

Even if it’s just for a short time, I can’t imagine a trip without stepping foot in each park. It makes the vacation feel complete.

5. 🛍️ Disney Springs

I always carve out time to wander Disney Springs. Between shopping, dining, and entertainment, you never know what treasures you’ll find.

6. 📸 Character Photo

I may not meet as many characters every trip, but at least one photo is non‑negotiable. It’s part of the magic.

7. 🌅 Rope Drop

Early mornings aren’t for everyone, but since I can’t sleep past 7:30 a.m., rope drop just makes sense. Plus, it’s the best way to beat the crowds.

8. 🌙 Close Down the Park

At least once per trip, we stay until closing. Being among the last guests in the park is magical — and if you’re patient, you can snag an incredible castle photo with almost no one around.

✨ Final Thoughts

Every Disney trip is unique, but these traditions tie them all together. They’re the little rituals that make each visit feel complete, no matter the group or the coast.

💬 What about you? What are the things your family always does at Disney?
