A MagicBand is your all‑in‑one Mousekatool for getting around Walt Disney World. It can act as your hotel room key, park ticket, PhotoPass collector, Lightning Lane check‑in, and even your payment method — all in one convenient spot.
MagicBand Basics
Price Range: $34.99–$75, depending on style, color, and limited editions.

Fun perk: Bands ordered through My Disney Experience come personalized with your name on the inside.
How They Work: MagicBands link to your My Disney Experience account and use Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi to interact with features throughout the parks.
MagicBand+: Comes with a charging cord. When charged, it lights up, vibrates, and interacts with rides, statues, shows, parades, and fireworks.
o Important: Even if the battery dies, the band still works for basic functions like park entry, Lightning Lanes, and room access.
What Your MagicBand Can Do
1. Hotel Room Key
You can access your room in three ways:
A physical key card
Your phone
Your MagicBand
Using the MagicBand is the most hands‑free option — no digging for a card or draining your phone battery.
2. Park Ticket
Your MagicBand acts as your park ticket, letting you tap in without pulling out your phone or keeping track of physical passes.
3. PhotoPass
Disney photographers throughout the parks can scan your MagicBand to link photos directly to your account, with the hassle of trying to pull out one of the other ticket options!
4. Lightning Lanes
If you’re using Lightning Lanes (Individual, Multi Pass, or Premier), your MagicBand makes entry effortless. Just tap the Mickey scanner — when it turns green, you’re in. No fumbling with phones or paper tickets.
5. Payments (Cha‑Ching!)
One of the best features: you can use your MagicBand to pay at Disney Parks, Resorts, and World of Disney.
How it works:
Link a credit or debit card in My Disney Experience
Set a PIN
Tap your band at checkout, enter your PIN, and the charge goes to your resort bill
A few key notes:
Disney places an initial $100 hold.
Once you spend that, another $100 hold is added.
Example: If you spend $105, Disney charges $105 to clear that additional $5 on top of the first hold and pre-authorizes the next $100.
These holds drop off at checkout, leaving one final resort charge.
Bonus:
Great for rewards cards — everything codes as a hotel charge, which means if you rewards programs givezs x2 or x3 for hotel charges... extra points or miles in your pocket!
You can assign one card per person per room or one card for the whole room.
You can assign each person their own PIN for security.
Kids can have:
Their own PIN
Spending limits or no charging privileges at all! Parents choice!
Your nightly spending summary breaks down who spent what, making it easy to split costs.
