This Day in Disney History: Day 60
🎉 60 Days to Go!
Today’s entry is extra exciting because we’ve got a current Disney event to celebrate—how often does that happen?
Tron: Ares, the third installment in the Tron series, officially hits theaters today! I’m not sure if I’ll make it out this weekend or if it’ll be a couple of weeks, but this is one I definitely want to catch on the big screen.
And as it turns out, October 10 has a few other premieres worth noting. It’s what some might call a “slower” Disney history day, but hey—there’s still plenty to geek out over. So let’s dive in!
🗡️ 1957 – Zorro debuted on ABC.I honestly had no idea this was a TV show! I only ever think of Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones slicing and dicing their way through the big screen.
🚀 1997 – RocketMan launched into theaters. Okay, full disclosure—I know nothing about this movie. But maybe this is the universe telling me to add it to my watch list? What do you think—hidden gem or skip?
🥔 2002 – Disney and Frito-Lay teamed up. Yep, the chip company! This collab sounds snacktastic and very on-brand. I’m imagining Mickey-shaped chips and Goofy-approved flavors.
🎨 2012 – Disney announced the opening of Art of Animation Resort. I know it’s been 13 years, but it feels like this resort has been around forever. Honestly, I thought it was one of the originals!
So there you have it—some fun, random tidbits from this day in Disney history. And with that, we wrap up our latest 10-day countdown! Come back tomorrow as we kick off a fresh new mini-series.
