🌟 This Day in Disney History: Day 9

61 Days to Go!

One of the things I’ve always admired about Disney is that it’s never just about rides or character meet-and-greets. The magic runs deeper—through immersive theming, interactive shows, and moments that make you feel like part of the story.

On this day in 2007, Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple opened at Hollywood Studios, thrilling young padawans with the chance to wield lightsabers and face off against the Dark Side. It was a dream come true for Star Wars fans!

Sadly, the experience closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and hasn’t returned to the Disney bubble yet.

💫 Confession: I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, but I still think this would’ve been super fun to watch. Fingers crossed it makes a comeback someday!

💡 A Parade That Refuses to Fade

Also on this day in 2016, the Main Street Electrical Parade had its final run at Magic Kingdom… or did it?

Originally debuting on June 17, 1972, this glowing spectacle bounced between Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and even Tokyo Disneyland over the decades. While its last official run at Walt Disney World was on this day, the parade has a habit of reappearing for limited engagements. The most recent revival was in 2022, thanks to fan demand.

✨ I’ve never seen it in person, but I’m holding out hope that it’ll be released from the vault again—long enough for me to catch it live!

Have you seen the Main Street Electrical Parade? Did it light up your Disney memories?

See you tomorrow for Day 10 and our final day in this Day in Disney History series!
