🎬 This Day in Disney History: Day 6
64 Days to Go!

If you were born in the '80s (like me), you know the magic of a VHS tape—and the agony of waiting for the Disney Vault to open.
On this day in 1987, Lady and the Tramp finally made its way into our homes,
becoming just the 7th Disney classic released on VHS. That’s right—32 years after its theatrical debut, we could finally rewind and rewatch this timeless tale of spaghetti and puppy love.
🚗 Sign of the Times: Disneyland’s
Marquee Makeover
Also in 1987, Disneyland swapped out its original 1958 parking entrance sign on Harbor Blvd for a marquee that was 50% bigger. As Anaheim grew, so did the need to make Disneyland stand out. (Though let’s be honest… they could’ve just super-sized Sleeping Beauty Castle. Cinderella’s Castle would’ve approved 😉)
💎 Diamond Magic & Haunted Merch

Fast forward to 2009, when Disney launched the Diamond Collection with a Blu-
ray/DVD combo release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. A sparkling upgrade for a true classic!
And in 2014, foolish mortals rejoiced as Memento Mori opened at Walt Disney World—a Haunted Mansion-themed store that’s spooky, stylish, and absolutely essential. Not every ride needs its own shop… but Haunted Mansion? YES. YES. And YES.
Thanks for joining me on Day 6 of our countdown series! I hope you’re loving these magical throwbacks. Come back tomorrow for Day 7 and more Disney history gems!
