šŸš— 71 Days to Go!

Day 9 of Our Eerie Disney Countdown: Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride

Today we’re diving into the eeriness of times gone past… well, not totallyĀ gone. While Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride no longer exists at Walt Disney World, you can still experience this delightfully bizarre adventure on the West Coast—at Disneyland!

By today’s thrill ride standards, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride might feel a bit dated. No drops, no loops, no high-tech effects. But for me? It’s a must-do. I cannot visit Disneyland without hopping into one of those little Model T’s and racing through the countryside and down the chaotic streets of London.

It’s a classic ā€œdark ride,ā€ much like Snow White’s Enchanted Wish or Alice in Wonderland. But there’s one eerie twist that sets Mr. Toad apart…

šŸ”„ The Ride That Ends in Hell

Yep. You read that right.

As you race through the ride’s storyline, the darkness and props simulate a crash sequence. Not unusual for a Disney ride narrative. But instead of waking up with cartoon birds circling your head, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride sends you straight to Hell.

Flames. Demons. A fiery underworld. It’s not a metaphor—it’s the actual final scene of the ride.

The idea is that you’re experiencing the story as Mr. Toad himself. Your reckless driving leads to a crash, and your punishment? A trip to the underworld before you escape back to reality.

šŸ•Æļø Final Thoughts

I don’t know about you, but the fact that this ride has survived decades of updates and rethemes is kind of amazing. It’s eerie, it’s odd, and it’s one of the few Disney attractions that dares to go full inferno.

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride might not be flashy, but it’s a dark little gem that proves some classics are too wild to fade away.

Would you ride it? Or is a trip to Hell a little too much for your Disney day?
